If shopping is your favorite sport, you have options galore! Find antiques in Moss Landing or bargains in Gilroy. Shop to your heart’s delight in a beach town atmosphere in Santa Cruz or Capitola, on a small town Main Street in Watsonville, or in a historic district in Monterey. Browse nautical treasures along a wharf, or specialty boutiques in a covered mall.
When the sun goes down, the fun goes on. Evenings may find your associates or family swapping stories around a beach campfire or gathered around the fireplace in your cozy home-away-from-home. After you watch a breathtaking sunset, you have some prime time stargazing ahead. Pajaro Dunes is far enough from city lights to let the stars really shine. It’s a rare treat to see so many stars, and a delight to locate the Big Dipper, Orion, and other favorites of the night sky. You’ll be thrilled when the full moon shimmers like liquid silver on the Pajaro River – an experience to share and to remember.
If you’d rather see stars on the stage or screen, local venues offer entertainment of all kinds: movies, plays, live music, and more. Enjoy world-class talent at small town prices.
When your corporate cohorts or family get hungry, there are delicious choices. Eat in or out, pot luck or fully catered. All Pajaro Dunes accommodations are equipped with full kitchens and barbeque grills, for sharing favorite dishes. When everyone wants a break from cooking and cleaning, local restaurants offer something for every taste and every meal. In Watsonville, Beach Street and The Red Apple specialize in breakfast and lunch, and Hungerford’s serves up hearty barbeque. The Green Valley Grill offers casual dishes to fine dining with entertainment on weekends. Phil’s Fish Market in Moss Landing offers a wide menu of fresh, local seafood dishes to eat in or take out. In Capitola, Shadowbrook features fine dining in a charming location alongside Soquel Creek, accessible by a unique cable car. Or, let a local caterer provide the food while you bring the family or associates and Mother Nature supplies the ambience.
You may want your visit to include one of the special events that happen all year round along the Monterey Bay. The Watsonville Fly-In and Air Show is one of the premier air shows in the U.S. The Aptos Fourth of July parade is pure, small-town Americana. Auto enthusiasts enjoy racing at Laguna Seca or antique car shows. If you fancy boats and begonias, you won’t want to miss the parade down Soquel Creek in September. Music festivals and art fairs delight visitors from far and near. The AT&T National Pro-Am Golf Tournament takes place each February 5-11. Whatever your interests, there is sure to be an event that celebrates it.
